All persons entering the office of Schiavi Custom Builders must be approved by Otis. Upon verification that all paperwork is in order, persons are dismissed to resume normal activities. ;-)

Frank - Project Coordinator

Frank…. Where do we start with Frank? Frank is the “patriarch” of the family. He knows everyone. He has done everything. And talking with him is so much fun! Since 2013, Frank has been introducing potential clients to our process. He enjoys getting to know each family he works with and finding his connection to them.

Outside of work, you can find him working on his homestead, skiing at Sunday River or hosting family gathering with his bride of 50+ years.

Schiavi Group Construction Department

As the housing markets has evolved through the decades, so has Schiavi Custom Builders. We have grown from a “dealer” to a “modular builder” to a “builder.” With these changes our inhouse construction team has evolved as well. We have a full team of carpenters. From framers to craftsman, our crew is a blend of skills required to complete each project’s scope of work. Additionally, Schiavi works with select sub-contractors who understand our process and vice-versa. Working to coordinate all the parts and pieces, Schiavi Group Construction now has four people dedicated to managing the construction of our projects.

So, I get an email from the planning team saying it’s planning time! I need your Flooring choices, Roofing color, Siding color and so on. The whole state is in lockdown because of Covid-19 and I can’t go spend hours wondering around stores to pick out what I want. I already had a pretty good idea of what I wanted for a color scheme for the house, so I sent <Schiavi> my ideas and they did a great job putting together samples. It made is less stressful than having unlimited options at a store. I didn’t second guess it and didn’t get all stressed out over not being able to see it in person. I did spend extra time on the fixtures and ended up ordering my kitchen and bathroom sinks and faucets through a website Schiavi referred me to. Having the support of the planning team at Schiavi’s allowed me to not become overwhelmed with the options and instead focus of the options that were within my budget and matched the look I wanted. In no time, I had made my selections and was signing contracts.

Planning a home when you are thirteen time zones away from your builder is interesting to say the least! Schiavi [Custom Builders] made it work. I started planning thinking this would take much longer than other projects I have done, but that was not the case. We developed a system that streamlined communication and before I knew it, we were signing contracts.

We wanted our addition to be move in ready, upon our return from Wintering Abroad. This meant, planning and building from Japan. One would assume this would create delays, but it seemed to speed up the process! The Planning Team would work on our plans, sending information via email. We would recieve the info in the middle of the night our time. We would process the info, replying via email during our day, (during the night back home). We scheduled 2 conference calls throughout planning, late evening Schiavi time, early morning our time. Planning was completed in about a month! Schiavi’s online project management system made keeping up with progress once construction started very easy. We were able to see pictures, ask questions and stay up to date.

We are very pleased with our Schiavi custom home. Schiavi felt less like a business and more like a family of folks dedicated to giving us the build we wanted. <The Planning Team> guided us through the planning process and our experience with him was excellent. <They are> great communicators and knows the business like the back of their hand. We had a delay mid-building process with the county and placement of a telephone pole that could have been handled better. But to Schiavi’s credit, they made some personnel changes and got us right back on track.The owner, Scott, is an honest and kind person. He is a patriot and has done a lot for our wounded warriors and veterans. We appreciate and respect that. We’ve also found that Schiavi doesn’t disappear once the project is complete. We’ve reached back out to them a couple times for small things such as home settling post-build and they are always responsive to our requests and take care of things right away. We would definitely recommend Schiavi Custom Homes to anyone looking to build a new home and we would definitely work with Schiavi again if we decide to build another home in the future.
